Russia has made a significant high-technology gambit to secure its future with India, offering to support the indigenous AMCA fighter program with its own Su-57 stealth jet.
Ambassador Denis Alipov announced Russia is ready to “move confidently toward local production of the Su-57… supporting India’s AMCA program.”
This futuristic proposal is paired with discussions on “drones, anti-drone systems, advanced radar, and other force multipliers,” signaling a comprehensive technology-sharing plan.
This offer builds on a robust foundation of joint production, including the “soon-to-be hypersonic” BrahMos missile, Su-30 MKI jets, and T-90 tanks.
This high-tech move comes as a counter to US pressure. Donald Trump claimed India would halt Russian oil imports, a claim India’s MEA denied, citing “national interest.” Russia’s offer provides a powerful incentive for India to maintain its strategic autonomy.
